Ethical Quandaries in the COVID-19 Pandemic videocast, Christine Grady, MSN, PhD; Chief, NIH Clinical Center’s Department of Bioethics

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Grady and her colleagues have provided consultation and have written and spoken about a number of ethical issues related to COVID-19 research and clinical care. In this talk, she will discuss a number of vexing ethical issues that have arisen during the coronavirus pandemic that span clinical ethics, public health ethics, and research ethics. Included among them will be eithical issues related to health care provider responsibilities, fair allocation of resources, and selection of appropriate research study designs.

Objectives: Participants will be able to:
1. Discuss clinical, public health, and research ethical issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic
2. Identify the core principles of bioethics
3. Application of the core principles of bioethics within the COVID-19 pandemic context
